Privacy Policy

Last updated October 2026

TapNaija VTU ("we", "us") provides airtime, data, cable TV, electricity and exam PIN purchases through this app. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it and how we protect it.

1. Information we collect

Account details: your name, email address, phone number and state when you register.

Identity verification (KYC): the NIN or BVN, date of birth and name on ID that you submit to raise your limits. We store only what is needed to verify you.

Transaction data: purchases, wallet funding, beneficiary numbers, meter and smartcard numbers, amounts and references.

Device data: device type, app version and a notification token so we can send you alerts.

2. How we use your information

To create and secure your account and wallet, and to process your purchases and refunds.

To verify your identity, prevent fraud and meet our legal obligations.

To send transaction receipts, security alerts and, if you allow it, promotional messages.

To provide support and improve the app.

3. Your PIN and password

Your transaction PIN and password are stored in protected form. We never ask for your PIN or password by phone, email or chat. Do not share them with anyone, including people who claim to work for us.

4. Who we share it with

We share only what is necessary with the network operators, electricity distributors, cable providers, exam bodies, payment and bank partners that complete your transaction, and with identity-verification providers.

We may disclose information when required by law, a court order or a regulator. We do not sell your personal information.

5. Notifications

You can turn push, email and marketing notifications on or off in Profile > Settings. Security and transaction messages may still be sent when they are needed to operate your account.

6. Data retention and security

We keep transaction and KYC records for as long as your account is active and for the period the law requires afterwards. We use access controls and encrypted connections to protect your data, but no system is completely secure.

7. Your rights

You may ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, or to close your account, by contacting us. Some records must be kept to comply with the law, and we will tell you if that applies.

8. Children

The app is intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will show the new date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
